treatment
glp-1 therapy,
week by week.
medical weight-loss care, guided by licensed providers.
GLP-1 medications act on receptors involved in appetite signaling and blood-glucose regulation. They mimic a hormone your body already makes after meals, which slows gastric emptying and reduces hunger between meals. For weight management, the appetite effect is the most relevant one — and it is the reason your clinician may recommend this class.

the first weeks.
honest about side effects. they may improve as your body adjusts — described accurately, not minimized.
before
the evaluation
Before any prescription, a licensed clinician in your state reviews your intake. We screen for contraindications (pregnancy/breastfeeding, MTC/MEN2 history, pancreatitis, kidney failure) and check that BMI bounds are met. There is no auto-prescribe path.
week 1
lowest-dose start
If approved, you receive the lowest titration dose first. Most people notice mild changes in appetite within a few days. Some feel nothing the first week — that is also expected.
weeks 2–4
your body adjusts
Common GI side effects (nausea, constipation, reflux) tend to be most noticeable here. They may improve as your body adjusts. Your clinician reviews your check-ins and will pause or adjust your plan if symptoms are not tolerable.
week 4 onward
dose review
Your dose may be increased automatically by one protocol-defined step when your weekly check-ins show you're not yet at goal and you haven't reported issues. You'll be notified, and you'll need to acknowledge the new dose on your dashboard before logging your next injection. The escalation follows the clinical protocol set by our medical director, is disclosed in your telehealth consent, and you can opt out at any time. Decreases and pauses are made by clinician decision after reviewing your check-ins.
what we dispense
branded vs. compounded
The medications you may be prescribed at Norm are compounded preparations made by US state-licensed compounding pharmacies. They are not the same product as FDA-approved branded medications, and we will never describe them as such.
FDA-approved branded
Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Zepbound are FDA-approved branded products manufactured by their respective makers. Norm does not dispense these.
compounded preparations
Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared by licensed pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. They may be prescribed when clinically appropriate.

how we keep this safe
- Every initial prescription requires licensed-clinician review — there is no auto-prescribe path.
- Contraindication screening at intake (BMI bounds, MTC/MEN2 history, pancreatitis, kidney failure, pregnancy/breastfeeding).
- Dose validation by clinical protocol — bounds checked, legal step required, every change audit-logged.

questions about the medication
three honest answers.
why isn't this an FDA-approved branded GLP-1?
FDA-approved branded GLP-1 products are specific products that Norm does not dispense. When clinically appropriate, your clinician may prescribe a compounded preparation made by a licensed pharmacy. Compounded medications, when prescribed, are prepared by licensed pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. They may be prescribed only when clinically appropriate. They are not the same product, and we will never describe them as such.
can the dose change over time?
Your dose may be increased automatically by one protocol-defined step when your weekly check-ins show you're not yet at goal and you haven't reported issues. You'll be notified, and you'll need to acknowledge the new dose on your dashboard before logging your next injection. The escalation follows the clinical protocol set by our medical director, is disclosed in your telehealth consent, and you can opt out at any time. Decreases and pauses are made by clinician decision after reviewing your check-ins.
what if I miss a dose?
If you miss your weekly dose, message your clinician through the app for guidance. In general, take it as soon as you remember unless your next scheduled dose is close — but your clinician's specific guidance for your situation takes precedence.
