getting started
What is Norm?+
A telehealth platform connecting patients with licensed clinicians for medically supervised weight-loss care. Your evaluation is free — payment is only collected after a clinician approves your case.
How long does the process take?+
The intake takes about 5 minutes. A clinician typically reviews your case within 1–2 business days. If approved, your medication ships directly to your door.
Who reviews my intake?+
A licensed healthcare provider — physician, NP, or PA — authorized to practice telehealth in your state.
How does the medical screening work?+
When you submit your intake, an automated eligibility check screens for basic requirements — age, BMI range, and known contraindications. If you pass, your case goes directly to a licensed clinician for a full review. If the screen flags something, you'll be told why. No case is ever approved or denied without a real clinician making the final call.
medications
What's the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?+
Both are once-weekly injectables for weight loss. Semaglutide (GLP-1) targets one receptor to reduce appetite and regulate blood sugar. Tirzepatide (GLP-1 + GIP) targets two receptors for more significant weight reduction. Your clinician will help determine which is right for you.
How do I inject the medication?+
Your medication is injected just under the skin once per week using a small insulin-style syringe. Common injection sites include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate your injection site each week. Your clinician will provide detailed instructions with your first order.
What are the common side effects?+
See our /side-effects page for a full breakdown of what's common, what's worth a check-in, and what means you should call 911.
How long does one vial last?+
It depends on your dose. At the starting dose, a Semaglutide vial (12.5 mg) lasts about 50 weeks. A Tirzepatide vial (60 mg) lasts about 24 weeks at the starting dose. As your clinician increases your dose, the vial is used faster. You can track your remaining supply on your dashboard.
How does dose escalation work?+
See our /treatment page for the full dose-escalation protocol, the safety gates, and how clinician oversight works.
Can my prescription be revoked?+
In rare cases, yes. If a safety concern arises — such as a serious side effect or a newly disclosed contraindication — your clinician may revoke an existing approval before your medication ships. If this happens, you'll be fully refunded and your clinician will contact you with next steps.
ongoing care
What happens after I receive my medication?+
You'll log your first injection on your dashboard, which starts your weekly care schedule. From there, you'll complete brief weekly check-ins so your clinician can monitor your progress and adjust your dosage as needed.
What if I miss an injection?+
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember within a few days. If your next scheduled dose is close, skip the missed one and resume your normal weekly schedule. Do not take two doses to make up for a missed one. Log your missed dose in your weekly check-in so your clinician is aware.
Can I pause or stop treatment?+
Yes. You can stop treatment at any time — there is no subscription or long-term commitment. If you want to pause, let your clinician know through your check-in so they can advise on safely adjusting your dose down.
safety
When should I seek emergency care?+
Contact your local emergency services or go to the nearest ER if you experience severe abdominal pain that does not go away, signs of an allergic reaction (swelling of the face, lips, or throat, difficulty breathing), or symptoms of pancreatitis (intense pain in the upper abdomen radiating to your back, with nausea or vomiting). These are rare but require immediate medical attention.
Is my information secure?+
Yes. All patient health data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption and stored on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. We never share your information without your consent.
